IUCG - Internet Users Contributing Group:Community Portal
From IUCG - Internet Users Contributing Group
IUCG Members are the posting Members of the iucg@ietf.org mailing list, acting as Internet business, professional, lead or ordinary users Members of the IETF.
IETF experts are therefore welcome, but they must accept that the approach is a user not engineer approach. They must advise and respect it. The focus is what the technology should do, not the way it is to do it. This is a key point if the IUCG is really to contribute with users positions and be able to interface the user community, help specification compromises and support a usage architecture.
The IUCG uses five main tools:
- the iucg@ietf.org mailing list - First Mail
- its own specialized mailing lists within the framework of the IUCG Charter
- the documents maintained on this web site
- this wiki
- a survey system to poll and evaluate multi-consensuses and trends
IETF rules and practices apply unless adapted and specified otherwise. The Chair decides on the rough multiconsensuses along with the IETF practices.
The usage of this wiki is as follows:
- the wiki is managed by the IUCG Chair.
- documents are worked on as IUCG Wiki Pages (IWP). They have one or more Registered Authors.
- registered Editors are thanked for reviewing the English and technical terminology.
- texts should be simultaneously worked out in the English and French languages for cross-polenization, pragmatic simplification, and more fluid semantics.
