During the clarification debate that followed the mischaracterization of the integral architectural vision that these ideas formed, their proponents and advocates started to call themselves "the JEDIs".

This term has survived. One may say that JEDIs are the participants in Jefsey's ALFA (Architecture Libre/Free Architecture) research, which in turn led to the current emergence of the IUTF.
