Network Addresing
From IUCG - Internet Users Contributing Group
Network addressing is defined or defines a network topology : they are the ends of the network adjancies. There are four addressing layers to consider :
- possible: these are the addressing plans.
- fixed addresses: permanent location in the network topology.
- mobile addresses: location attached to a connected box.
- virtual addresses: location attached to a virtual capacity (data, application, etc.)
Addresses are locations, they are not identification, nor authentification.
